laser-vision correction surgery is now within the means of
almost anyone.
Laser Eye Surgery
Laser vision correction
costs from just
£395. Our
quick, simple procedures offer the freedom of
naturally
clear vision by providing an alternative to wearing
glasses and
contact lenses. Unlike most
operations to cure eye disease, laser eye surgery is only performed
on healthy eyes.
Intralase Femtosecond LASIK or "All Laser" LASIK
The new state of the
art "All-laser" Intralase Femtosecond Laser is the gold
standard for laser eye surgery, giving Optimax
patients the opportunity of having the
best treatment available anywhere in the world.
LASIK
LASIK is used to correct a wide range
of prescriptions, making it suitable for correcting mild to severe
short sight, mild long sight and astigmatism.
Recovery usually takes around 24 hours.
LASEK
LASEK is used to correct mild to moderate
short sight and astigmatism. Recovery usually takes a few days.
Wavefront LASIK/LASEK
Wavefront LASIK is a customised treatment
designed for unusually shaped eyes (irregular corneas) and where a
satisfactory result may not be achieved with LASIK or LASEK
treatments and can improve night vision results.
Other Vision Correction Treatments
Not everyone is suitable for
laser eye surgery but there are other treatment options available
at
Optimax that may be suitable:
CK
When you reach your mid forties reading material gets harder to
read. You have to hold things farther away to be able to see them
clearly.
CK
treatment can restore your youthful vision and let you once again
enjoy life naturally without reading glasses. You can shed that
middle aged look with glasses perched on the end of your nose or
hanging around your neck.
CK is the answer; a safe 3 minute procedure can
release you from the burden of old age specs.
Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL, RLE, CLE,
Prelex)
ICL are used for the correction of severe
short sight, long sight and astigmatism. They are
similar to small contact lenses but placed inside
the eye. Recovery is usually within two weeks.
Refractive (clear) lens exchange (RLE or CLE) is similar to
Implantable Contact Lenses - the internal lens of the eye is
replaced with a tiny plastic lens of the correct strength. A
multi-focus lens can be used which could enable both distance
and reading glasses.
Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery aims to restore clear sight and
in the majority of cases, will eliminate the need for both distance
and reading glasses. Recovery is usually within a few
days. Optimax uses multifocal lenses which are not available on the
NHS. The chance of being able to correct the need for reading
glasses as well as distance vision is a great advantage and the
reason many people choose to go private.
Bilateral Treatment
Most people choose bilateral
treatment (both eyes treated together) for reasons of convenience.
Some consider it safer to wait until the outcome of the first eye
is known before treating the second.
