We’ve got a lovely team in our Leicester clinic that goes out of their way to provide top-class service to Optimax patients. With some team members having been here as long as 16 years, they have a wealth of experience between them. We had a chat with the whole team, ranging from patient advisors and nurses to the clinic manager and head optometrist. We wanted to know exactly what it is that they love about their jobs, and to hear a bit about the patient journey they provide.
Have you ever seen small white bumps on your face, particularly on your upper cheeks or around your eyes? Chances are it’s milia (plural: milia, single: milium). They’re painless small white cysts that don’t feel itchy or irritated unless they are picked or aggravated. Milia typically appear in clusters, feel hard, and are usually easy to identify.

In August this year, we treated our lovely patient Mariam with LASIK surgery. Mariam is an optometrist herself and spends her days talking all things eyes and vision with her patients. She was short sighted and relied on either glasses or contact lenses every day for even the smallest of tasks.
