I started my ophthalmology career in a busy hospital in Madrid back in 2010. I chose to be there as I knew
it was a place where I would gain the exposure needed to dominate the most common but also the rare eye
conditions. This gave me the experience to kickstart my career, moving to London in 2014 and after a couple of fellowships in both refractive surgery and retinal conditions in West Sussex and later in Derby Royal Hospital, I become a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the NHS in 2018, working full time for Torbay hospital. I gained broad experience in the management of complex cataract operations, having performed over 5,000 procedures.

I joined Optimax in 2022 and since then I have been able to offer my experience in most modern refractive
procedures available. These include Refractive Lens exchange, Implantable Contact Lenses and Laser eye surgery.

With all the available choices we can nowadays offer a refractive solution and freedom from glasses to most patients, more importantly we can tailor the treatment to suit everyone’s personal visual needs, while doing it
in the safest possible way and using the latest technology available. I feel very lucky to be part of it and I am
passionate to improve people’s sight.
