Dr Tariq Saboor is one of Scotland’s most experienced high-volume cataract surgeons, with more than 30 years dedicated to restoring sight. He is renowned for precision, innovation and leadership in advanced cataract and lens implant procedures, including multifocal, toric, accommodative and ICL lenses. As Clinical Lead for Cataract Surgery, Macular Services and Laser Treatments at NHS Forth Valley, he has introduced numerous techniques and technologies to Scottish ophthalmology.

He was the first in Scotland to implant multifocal IOLs, artificial iris implants, EDOF lenses and miniature telescopes, and is highly respected for his expertise in macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and laser treatments. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Saboor has held key academic and leadership roles, trains surgeons across Scotland, and participates in charitable eye missions worldwide.
